Australia is a diverse country and so Easter is celebrated in many different ways. Some observe the Christian ideals of Easter by visiting their church and giving thanks to God. Churches will hold special services across the weekend, with some putting on performances that re-enact the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Others use it as a time to connect with family and friends, while some just get away from their day-to-day lives with a short holiday across the long weekend. However it is celebrated, there are several common traditions that many people observe:

  • Hot cross buns: Eaten on Good Friday, these sweet buns with dried fruit have a cross on top made from pastry or a flour and water mix.
  • Easter eggs: Traditionally eaten on Easter Sunday, chocolate Easter eggs are a favourite for adults and children alike. Eggs symbolise a new beginning but for most people they’re just an excuse to eat delicious chocolate!
  • Easter bunny: The Easter bunny delivers the chocolate eggs on Easter Sunday morning, which are associated with fertility and the spring festivals of the northern hemisphere.
  • Four-day weekend: A great opportunity for people to take a break from work and head somewhere close for a short holiday.

Lantern Club is embracing the spirit of togetherness this Easter season. In addition to the seasonal treats that will be on offer at MàZi Restaurant and MàZi Café, the Club is getting into Easter Egg Hampers in a big way.
More than 50 Easter Egg Hampers featuring Cadbury and Red Tulip chocolates will be given away in our March 10 Raffle, with tickets being sold in the lounge from 6.30pm. The first half will be drawn from 7:30; the second half from 8:30. Tickets are only $5 for ten ticket numbers so be sure you’re there!
Even if you miss the raffle (or can’t wait for it!), hampers are now on sale for $60 in the Reward Shop, or you can use your Reward Points!
Our Easter Egg Hampers make the perfect Easter gift but in case they aren’t quite your style, we gathered a few more gift recommendations for the season.

Easter gifts for kids and adults

LC_section2
While gift giving at Easter isn’t quite on the same scale as Christmas and birthdays, it still presents an opportune time to buy something for someone special in your life, regardless of their age. Some people would rather give a gift than chocolate eggs and bunnies, while others will use any excuse to spoil their friends and family.
If you’re looking for a gift to buy someone this Easter, here are five Easter gifts for kids and five gifts for adults to save you the hassle of searching for yourself.
