It’s that time of year when the cooler weather starts to nuzzle its way into our day-to-day lives. We’re all dusting off our winter woollies, firing up the heater in the evenings and your outdoor pets may even be lucky enough to start spending the nights inside.
It’s also the time of year when seasonal produce starts to change. Spring and summer fruits and vegetables such as strawberries, mushrooms and pumpkins make way for cold weather favourites including lemons, pears, potatoes and broccoli. Our Chefs have prepared a winter menu that incorporates the freshest seasonal fruit and vegetables, while maintaining the rich, delicious flavours our members and guests have grown to love and expect.
The MaZi Winter Menu features traditional favourites as well as dishes from the creative minds of our experienced Chefs, from breads and starters through to the divine and mouth-watering desserts.
Start your evening with a selection of rolls or soft breads with olive oil, cheeses, fresh produce and creamy Greek dips. Continue your Mediterranean journey with a round of freshly shucked oysters, either as nature intended or with a red wine or crispy bacon inspired sauce
An explosion of vibrant flavours will greet you when you try one of the delicately balanced salads including favourites such as our MÀZi Caesar and traditional Greek varieties. For something a little more in keeping with the crispness in the air, pan-fried halloumi, marinated grilled calamari, seared scallops or our Chef’s Choice, Szechuan pepper seasoned prawns, will warm the tastebuds.
The main course dishes are a who’s who of the world’s favourite winter meals. The soft, succulent twice-cooked pork belly is MÀZi’s Signature Dish and is an exquisite meal not to be missed. If seafood is more your style, garlic prawns, beer battered flathead fillets or pan seared sesame crusted salmon fillets will satisfy your appetite. Contemporary Australian fare such as crumbed chicken schnitzel, slow cooked chicken breast with scallops, the roast of the day or a selection of tender, flavoursome cuts of steaks will be prepared for you just how you like it.
For those who like to share their meals in keeping with the traditions of many Mediterranean countries, we offer a range of wood fired pizzas, the MÀZi seafood platter featuring chilled prawns, Balmain bugs, mussels and a range of other market fresh seafood, or the four-hour slow-cooked pasture fed lamb shoulder with an incredible honey mustard sauce. There’s also a range of exceptional vegetarian and gluten free dishes for those with particular dietary requirements
Pair your meal with one of our incredible local and imported red, white or sparkling wines, to compliment the perfect dining experience. From the flamboyant and bright, to more toasty and oaked flavours, there’s a wine to match your meal.
Now that you’re ready for dessert, one look at the dessert menu and you’ll be hooked. The caramelised vanilla crème brûlée with macaron and fresh raspberry is worth a visit to MÀZi alone and is the restaurant’s Signature Dessert Dish. Soon-to-be member and guest favourites include the dark chocolate and Tia Maria truffle cake with poached pear and coffee anglaise, the house made coconut and lime panna cotta with lime curd and biscotti and the warm sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce and vanilla gelato.
After sampling just a few of the dishes on the new MÀZi winter menu, we’re confident you’ll be making reservations for your next dining experience to try more of the flavoursome dishes you couldn’t the first time round.
