Lantern Club was proud to welcome local families to a fun-filled day of fitness, friendship and community connection as children took part in a Minifit Fitness Clinic – led by former NRL star Anthony Minichiello.

Held on the club’s bowling green, the free clinic brought together children aged five to thirteen from across the local area – providing a positive and engaging environment where they could be active, learn new skills and build confidence.

Across two energetic sessions, participants enjoyed a variety of interactive activities and fitness challenges designed to encourage movement, teamwork and healthy habits. The clinic gave children the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and connect with other young people in the community while having plenty of fun.

The importance of opportunities like Minifit is becoming increasingly clear. Research shows that regular physical activity helps children build confidence, improve concentration, develop social skills and support their overall physical and mental wellbeing. Australian guidelines recommend at least sixty minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity each day for children and young people, yet only around one in four Australian children meet those recommendations.

Anthony Minichiello and the Minifit team created a welcoming and supportive atmosphere throughout the day, motivating participants to challenge themselves, get involved and embrace the importance of an active lifestyle.

The event was about more than just fitness. It was an opportunity for local families to come together, meet new people and enjoy a shared experience during the school holidays. The smiles, laughter and enthusiasm on display throughout the day highlighted the value of creating opportunities that strengthen community connections while supporting the health and wellbeing of local children.

At Lantern Club, we’re committed to delivering experiences that bring people together and contribute positively to our community. From family-friendly events and school holiday activities to local partnerships and community initiatives, we’re proud to support opportunities that help families connect and thrive.

We would like to thank Anthony Minichiello, the Minifit team and all the children, parents and guardians who joined us for the day and helped make the event such a success.

We look forward to welcoming the community back to Lantern Club for many more family-focused events in the future.
